DRAPERY

A piece of fabric has many meanings - separating, covering, hiding, obscuring, masking.

In art history, curtains refer to any fabric or textiles depicted, which are usually clothing. The schematic representation of the folds and weave patterns of loose-hanging garments on the human form with ancient prototypes has been reworked by Greek vase painters and sculptors of the earliest fifth century as a complement to the female form and has remained an important source of stylistic formulas in sculpture and painting.
